- Food (my wife and I are foodies, especially different cultures)

My Leadership āmanagementā Style šÆ
- I am a very casual and informal person, but that does not mean I am not serious.
- I like to foster a working environment that is full of transparency, fun, and respect.
- I dislike using the word management or manager, but instead leadership and leaders.
- No expectations, but setting agreements
- makes hard conversation not hard
- to enable ownership models
- to feel free to push back with data and reasons for our customers!
- starts with empathy and trust (good intentions) for everyone
- it is not āwhy are you late to standupā, more so āis everything okā?
- communication is key & cross-functional collaboration is the way to build a great product for customers
- this helps everyone stays aligned to one goal/mission/team
- no throwing balls over the fence for the āother functionsā to work
- e.g. engineers work end to end from discovery to solutionāing to expecting!
- one of my goals as a leader is to āeliminateā my own job, aka train and guide the team to make the right decisions
- Influence without authority!
- throughout my time as a TPM, I learn that that is the ābestā way to get an aligned and passionate team.
- I should never need to tell someone what to do - it is more of a partnership between everyone (of course there are edge cases but this is the baseline)
